IN LOVING MEMORY

Dr John Andrew Benjamin Ramsey

26.9.42 – 23.8.20

Harbour Medical Services is deeply saddened by the passing of their colleague and friend Dr John Andrew Benjamin Ramsey.

John was a highly respected GP serving the Le Fevre Peninsula for over 50 years.   Commencing in the 60’s at Taperoo, he was a skilled practitioner who was involved in teaching and mentoring of young doctors for many decades.  After moving to Yankalilla in 2006, he returned to Port Adelaide in 2016, dividing his time between both practices.  It is humbling to know John always felt like he had returned home when coming back to Harbour Medical Services.

John was an integral part of our medical team who brought loyalty, a solid work ethic and years of invaluable experience along with a caring and non-judgemental nature.    He was revered amongst his peers and patients.

John was a one-of-a-kind character who had an infectious sense of humour and the day was always brighter when he was around.  He loved to tell a joke, even if you had heard it many times before, and always laughed at his own punch line.  ‘POETS’ day was definitely one of his favourites and Fridays will be remembered fondly for this.

A true gentlemen who always put the needs of others ahead of his own.

He will be greatly missed and the special times we were fortunate enough to spend with him will be forever treasured.

We extend our deepest sympathy to Susan, Amanda, Andrew and their families.   May the wonderful memories of John, for which we will all cherish, bring comfort to those that knew and loved him.
